Ekaa Vilaa is a cosy 6000 sft residence for a young couple in Hyderabad.
Cosy, intimate living was the concept statement for Ekaa Villa. We as lighting designers explored how a space can “slow” us down using light. This space is a result of dialogues at length with the clients.

The approach taken towards lighting was creating visual compositions which brings in serenity and peace. We worked hard on “Visual comfort” aspect as experiencing a good composition with bad visual comfort is a disaster.
The color and material story of deep toned walls with kota flooring helped us set the tone right. The entrance foyer welcomes you with an indoor plant and an accent chair which sets the tone for the rest of the house. Our approach was simple: make the most from the elements of architecture and try to make sure that minimal light fixtures are visible by the day.

In the double height living space instead of conventional chandeliers we opted to graze the art from the backdrop of the sofa, which not only picks up the art but provides ambient light with high visual comfort.
For the dining area we used the bounced art accent as the ambient light source and picked up the table using a sculptural decorative light.
The bedrooms are also lit such that you experience high visual comfort.
The deck space on the terrace again was lit to make sure there is high visual comfort and compositions of landscape architecture are brought to prominence by night.

The color temperature used in the project was 2700K, complete project is on DALI helping us achieve right intensities.
