Yan (前檐) is a bookstore found inside a shopping mall by the port of Shenzhen. Like the Fountain of Wisdom, it's a place to self-reflect, and discover new aspects about yourself. In order to provide such experience, the interior was designed with a sense of calmness and zen.

Custom made wall-washer was arranged to illuminate the 3,800mm tall wall of booksehlves. Positioned 300mm away from the shelf, and in 450mm pitch placement, the shelves are illuminated evenly from the top to bottom. It helps maintain clear visibility of the book covers, while providing appropriate lighting level along the walls, offering a sublime, yet calming atmosphere.
